"Who better to describe Romania than a couple who reached so deep into the everyday culture from the smallest villages to the halls of 'power.' This struck me when I walked with my wife high up a muddy hill path to the remote and small Village of Nereju in the Vrancea. We were there to meet a mask-maker and were immediately greeted by the comment: "Ambassador Rosapepe was here." And then, too, Jim's colorful 'suspenders' became icons of his ubiquitous presence nation-wide."
